Engaged couples, this is for you! Marriage Prep is a one-day workshop open to couples of all ages and denominations. In this fun and interactive experience, you'll walk away with having discovered more about yourself, your future spouse, and your relationship.

Discounted Marriage Certificate

Second Baptist Church’s Marriage Prep Workshop is approved as an education class for the Texas “Twogether in Texas” program. Couples attending in person will receive a certificate upon completion that qualifies them for a discounted marriage license in any Texas county (a $60 value; nominal administration fees may still apply).

Weddings at Second

All couples who wish to be married at Second Baptist Church are required to take Marriage Prep and also meet with a minister or counselor at the church two or three times prior to the wedding.

Marriage Prep Workshop FAQ’s

Couples of all ages and denominations who are seriously dating, engaged, or newly married. It is required if you are getting married at Second.

A full day of lectures, activities, and private couple discussions. All conversations are confidential.

Yes, each person completes the SYMBIS Assessment before class. Results are reviewed during the workshop, and couples are encouraged to schedule follow-up sessions with our counseling or pastoral staff.

Marriage Prep is offered a few times each year at the Woodway Campus on a Saturday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

$75 per person (includes SYMBIS Assessment fee).

Yes! Completion of the workshop qualifies attendees for a $60 discounted marriage license through the Twogether in Texas program (nominal county fees may still apply).
