Car Repair Ministry

Second Gear is a volunteer ministry of Second Baptist Church that provides basic automobile maintenance and repairs for single parents and widows in our church family, located at our Woodway Campus.

Our team of skilled volunteers is passionate about serving others with practical help and genuine care. We assess each vehicle's needs and only charge for the cost of parts and materials---never for labor---thanks to the generosity of our volunteers.

Eligibility

To request assistance, applicants must:

  • Be a single parent or widow
  • Be a member of Second Baptist Church
  • Be actively involved in a Bible study class for at least 3 months

Second Gear FAQs

Second Gear serves single parents and widows who are members of Second Baptist Church and have been actively involved in a Bible study for at least three months.

We offer basic automobile maintenance and minor repairs such as oil changes, brake inspections, battery checks, tire rotations, and other essential services.

We only charge for the parts and materials needed for the repair. Labor is always provided free of charge by our volunteer team.

Eligible applicants can complete the application form on our website or contact the ministry team directly for assistance.

Appointment scheduling depends on volunteer availability and repair needs. Our team will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a convenient time.
